New puppies

Gabi and I had the most amazing experience today. Our friends the Maxwell's dog Ally had a "visit in the backyard" from a neighbouring dog in August. The Maxwell's didn't know if anything would come of that visit, but today it did! Surprise!!

She gave birth to 4 puppies... 3 girls and 1 boy.

It was such an amazing experience. Gabi has never seen anything like this, and even me being a maternity nurse didn't dampen the awesomeness.

To think that God put into this dog's DNA the ability to give birth and then stimulate her new babies to breathe, bite off the umbilical cord, and clean off the membranes was so cool. And then to see these minutes-old puppies who can't see find there way to mommy's nipples and start nursing was truely a miracle.
I am so glad that we had the privilege of being part of this!

Volleyball

Gabi came home from school last week and announced that she is playing on the Grade 6 volleyball team at her school.
If you know Gabi, you know why this came as a bit of a shock to me!
She has NEVER shown any interest in sports at all!
She did so awesome job, scored 2 points for the team, and had a blast. I am so proud of her!
And her team won!

Hockey Tournament

This past weekend we went to Kelowna for Brendan's hockey tournament....

As you can see... this is Gabi's FAVORITE thing in the world to do!!

We got a smokin' deal on a huge hotel room...

No, it doesn't take us long to become complete slobs!

And we came home with this.... Isn't it pretty??

On the way home we stopped in Merritt for something to drink and McFlurry's for the kids. After going to McDonald's we pulled into the Chevron gas station to go to the Town Pantry. To our absolute and complete shock and disbelief, sitting and eating lunch at the Triple O's was a very dear friend of ours that we haven't seen in 10 years... Michael Hansen! He and his wife and family moved to Columbus, Ohio because Michael got a job as worship leader for the Vineyard there. Barry has known Michael and his family since 1965 when they lived in Chase B.C. as neighbours. And I have known Michael and Helen (his wife) since we went to youth group together, and they were instrumental in getting Barry and I together! We did not know that he was even in B.C. ( he was here for his parent's 50th wedding anniversary). What are the odds of meeting up with him at a Triple O's in Merritt?? It was amazing to see him again!

Thanksgiving

I had to work the Thanksgiving weekend (I kept thinking "Stat pay, stat pay!) so I had a great dinner at home with my 3 favorite people. We all pitched in on the prep and then pigged out!

And of course... watched the hockey game!!
