Our Wild Whistler Weekend

Our Whistler weekend finally arrived. We have been planning this since last November, so we were quite excited to finally go. This was the condo that we rented with our friends the Maxwells.

It was absolutely beautiful, and a bit out of town so very quiet.

We had great food too.... Dawna said that if Keri could blog pictures of food that we should too!

There was a nice hot tub on the deck. The kids loved it!

Barry and I haven't been to Whistler in 15 years so it was kind of nice just to be tourists.

We happened to be there on the "1000 days to go" before the Olympics day. They had lots of cool displays set up as well as a cake. Lots of fun!

Oh yeah, and we were there for a dance competition. On Thursday, when we drove into Whistler, Gabi and Kenadee noticed that there was an "XT" outlined on the mountain. (the dance studio they go to is called Xtreme Talent... XT for short) They both said "This is a sign that our studio is going to do well". And they were right! Gabi and Kenadee's tap duo "Miss Otis Regrets" won first place overall (out of 31 duo/trio entries) and the studio won $1000 total between scholarships and cash. And, Gabi and Kenadee have now earned a spot at the National competition in Kelowna in July! This is absolutely huge for a studio that hasn't even been in existence for one year. Not to mention how proud we are of Gabi and Kenadee!

All in all, it was a fabulous weekend!

Gabi's Birthday Part 2

Gabi got to celebrate her birthday twice this year. The first was on her actual birthday with the four of us...

The second party was at the wave pool with 6 of her friends.
